On 26 August 2016, AIMS South Africa hosted a workshop on Science Communication and Engagement. This was sponsored by the by the British Council Newton Fund and Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World through the Academy of Science South Africa.
Sinobia Kenny and Lindiwe Tshuma represented the research of AIMSSEC. Sinobia Kenny is completing a Master’s in Education and Lindiwe Tshuma is doing a PhD in Language and Mathematics.
Professor Neil Turok (the founder of AIMS) also spoke at the workshop on “What makes a good talk” – all who attended the workshop benefited greatly from him sharing his knowledge on the subject.
